When a high-end retail project begins to unravel mid-delivery, the consequences extend well beyond programme delays. For jewellers in particular—where security, presentation and precision must work in absolute harmony—any uncertainty can quickly become a commercial and operational risk. That was the position facing Savard Jewellers in Wilmslow, Cheshire, when Warrior Doors was brought in to take over a partially stalled shopfront installation.
The project had initially been awarded to an alternative supplier on the basis of cost. However, part way through delivery, issues began to emerge around materials, specification and supply chain reliability. With time already lost and the fit-out programme under pressure, the client turned to Warrior Doors to recover the situation and deliver a solution that met both the aesthetic and security demands of a luxury jewellery environment.
Rather than restarting the process, Warrior Doors moved quickly to re-establish control. Designs were turned around at pace, but more importantly, the team issued detailed setting-out templates at an early stage, enabling other trades on site to continue progressing while manufacturing was still underway. This parallel approach helped to recover valuable time and maintain momentum across the wider fit-out.
As Dominic Barratt explains, the focus was on removing uncertainty as early as possible: “By providing accurate setting-out information upfront, we allowed the site team to keep moving. That coordination meant we could effectively run design, manufacture and site preparation in parallel, which was critical given the time constraints.”
With the design agreed, Warrior Doors completed manufacture of the shopfront frames within a matter of weeks, drawing on its fully in-house production capabilities to accelerate delivery without compromising on quality or performance. Installation followed seamlessly, with systems engineered to meet the demands of a high-value retail setting where security is as critical as visual impact.
For Brett Barratt, the project underlines a broader point about delivery in security-critical environments. “There’s often an assumption that if something meets a specification, it will perform as expected on site. But when programmes tighten and variables increase, that’s where inconsistencies can creep in. Maintaining control across design, manufacture and installation is what allows you to deliver with confidence, even under pressure.”
A defining feature of the project was the close collaboration with The Space Whisperer, the interior design practice responsible for the boutique’s concept. In a retail environment where brand, customer experience and physical security are closely intertwined, alignment between disciplines is essential. Warrior Doors described the partnership as highly effective, noting the clarity of design intent and the team’s strong understanding of both architectural and security requirements. This collaborative approach ensured that the final installation not only met the required protection standards but also integrated seamlessly into the overall design language of the store.
Warrior Doors worked closely with The Space Whisperer on a luxury jeweller project in Wilmslow, Cheshire. MD Brett Barratt was very impressed with the partnership; “Their team were highly professional, well organised, and efficient throughout. They demonstrated a clear and confident vision for the shopfront and interior design, supported by strong architectural expertise and a clear understanding of the technical and security requirements associated with premium retail environments.”
“Communication was consistently clear and responsive, particularly during detailed coordination and interface discussions. A collaborative and positive site environment was maintained, with all trades aligned toward shared objectives. This strong leadership ensured smooth sequencing, minimal disruption during manufacture and installation, and a final result that met the high standards expected of a high value retail fit out” summarised Barratt.
Underlying the project is Warrior Doors’ long-standing commitment to independently verified performance. Its systems are tested and approved by BRE, one of the world’s leading security product test centres, with certification processes designed to replicate sustained, real-world attack scenarios. Over more than a decade, this relationship has driven the company to develop advanced in-house design capabilities, including dedicated CAD expertise aligned to stringent testing standards. The result is a portfolio of accredited systems, including the world’s first LPS 1175 SR3-rated fully glazed sliding security door, giving clients confidence that what is specified is consistently what is delivered.
The successful completion of Savard Jewellers ultimately reflects more than just a recovered programme. It demonstrates how speed, when underpinned by engineering control and collaboration, does not have to come at the expense of quality or security. In high-value retail environments, where the cost of failure is disproportionately high, that level of certainty is increasingly not just valued—but expected.
