Vivid Homes are one of the largest providers of affordable homes and housing-related services in the south of England with around 72,000 customers, 32,000 homes and over 850 employees. As an existing Warrior Doors client Vivid Homes ordered replacement front and rear communal entrance doors over 10 blocks at the Caribbean Estate in Portsmouth.
The existing doors on site were very tired and had come to a point where they were no longer fit for purpose. The replacement doors that Warrior Doors designed and manufactured were contemporary and fully glazed, secured on 2 magnetic locks. Each block had the front and rear door replaced. The installation took two weeks and caused minimal interruption to residents.
The end client came to view the progress of the project and was extremely pleased with the new doors (particularly the colour choice they picked – an anthracite grey). Warrior Doors also did some community work by having our installers plant some flower beds to bring a little colour to the Caribbean Estate.
“The appearance of our homes is really important to us and we’re focused on trying to reduce the stigma that can sometimes arise when people think of social housing, with the look of our homes being one of the ways we can tackle this. To help keep our homes in good condition and in response to customer feedback, we decided to update one of our estates, where a lot of the doors had unfortunately become damaged, with broken locks, glass and an overall tired appearance.
When speaking to residents, they fed back to us that they didn’t feel proud of where they lived and were concerned for the security of their building. So, to improve the look of the estate and to provide increased security, we chose Warrior Doors to replace and install new doors.
Completing the work has immediately enhanced the look of the homes on this estate, with one customer remarking she was extremely pleased with the new doors. Alongside this work, together with Warrior Doors, we planted summer bulbs and wildflowers around the estate and in planters outside of customer’s homes which has also been very well received by the community. We’re really happy with the outcomes of this project with Warrior Doors and thank them for all their hard work.”
